Here are the rules for Avatar mafia
* To attempt to keep the game flowing there will be time limits for the day and night phases.
* Nights will last therefore between 24-48 hours. If night choices come in earlier, it will dawn earlier. If you don’t get your choices in on time then you miss out on them.
* Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. If the majority vote is reached before the 6 days then the day will still finish and the night phase begins.
* The person with the most votes at the end of the day phase will be lynched, in the result of a tie then the toss of a coin will decide who gets lynched.
* Votes must be in bold. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted.
* Please be attentive and unvote, before casting a new vote, you can only vote for one person at a time.
* The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so.
* Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing.
* Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts you are likely to be mod killed otherwise.
* Don’t quote any messages from me. You will be mod-killed if you do.
* If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you – if you do not submit a choice then you miss out, which might result you being quite unhappy
* If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.
* I should post a vote count, ever so often, maybe every page or every alternate one. Please feel free to request one should you deem it necessary.
* If you have any questions, you can pm me or ask in the thread. I'll get back to you as soon as possible, and with the best explanation that I can.
* I am always right, but not always accurate. If I've made a mistake, please tell my by email as soon as possible. If you try to notify me in thread, I'll have to to edit your post and you will most likely be mod-killed.
* If I'm going to be unavailable for more than a day, I'll post that information
* Most importantly...this is a game and we're here to have fun. Do your part.

It’s 2154, the RDA corporation is mining Pandora, a lush, Earth-like moon of the planet Polyphemus, in the Alpha Centauri star system. An Earth mining operation, which employs private military contractors (mainly former Marines) for security intends to exploit Pandora's reserves of a valuable mineral called unobtanium. Pandora is inhabited by the Na'vi, a ten-foot-tall blue-skinned species of sapient humanoids with tails. The Na'vi live in harmony with nature, worshiping a mother goddess called Eywa.
Pandora's atmosphere is toxic to humans, forcing them to use breathing masks. Attempting to improve relations with the natives and learn about Pandora's biology, scientists grow Na'vi bodies modified with human DNA, called avatars, controlled by genetically matched, mentally linked human operators.
It is your job to eliminate all the evil members of the mining operation, leaving your homeland free again. The town wins when there is no more evil is left to cause harm to Eywa.

www.hattrick.org .. there's no conspiracy going on .. we are all on this as well .. and since I was off yesterday it's good to see 2 of my workers and my boss playing online .. guess that means trick pony was doing all the work .. that makes me happy. Hadn't seen Avatar until last weekend so the story should make more sense to me now .. tempted to vote for Villian as someone with -ve karma can't be good :bleh:

Quite the opposite imo Axe, Because i have no decent role I am merely trying to find hiccups in everyone else’s role, If i had a role of evil then i would go through my post with more patience especially right at the start of the game. I can understand your point in skimming later to catch up but from the first couple of pages then no mate.

I am not under pressure at all, the fact is that untill i started posting the game started of shit and now its becoming more interesting as peeps are coming out.
Its up to you wether you class me as good or bad, through my experience with this game i would of shut up by now if i was evil.

these games are basically good vs evil... just because we don't know who our other teammates are, does not in anyway diminish the fact that we are a team and we have a duty to find out the evil ppl and get rid of them...

you all know that by now I cant stand the first day because of its general randomness and lack of any real substance therefore I voted for wes just because 5 others did before me. everyone is suspicious at the moment and since there is normally 3 mafia members at least I make it a 1 in 4 chance that wes is mafia anyway. a vote for anyone carries the risk of lynching an innocent and we have got it wrong on many, many occassions. this is no different.

And what exactly have you done to "prove your innocence"? it's a few pages into the game.. nobody can "prove their innocence" yet.. however someone has a role claim out already due to a bandwaggon and you've ignored.. maybe your plan is to lynch as quickly as possibly so the town have little to go on on day 2..

FBN, I'm sus of you and a couple others because of the speed of the bandwaggon on wes.. Innocents usually don't jump that quickly on a bandwaggon on day one.. the players i mentioned were the ones I found most sus due to the fact that it was a bang bang bang type of "lets lynch him" moment..
Personally, on day one i am reluctant to actually lynch someone unless it's clear cut.. which is why I usually make the 1st day drag on and on and on.. it just seems odd that quick bandwaggon.. and I agree with Villian that there are a couple of evils in that group.. Just not sure which ones..

I'll be totally honest and I missed Wes's role claim but unvoted him anyway as I thought genuine mafia members had leapt the bandwagon in an effort to exonerate themselves from blame. I confess I do skim slightly, especially if one person posts excessively and only read the post after he role claimed which was aimed at me.

listen folks, I am not one to normally react so strongly to just one vote. I normally just ignore them as quite often people are just testing the water and reacting attracts unwanted attention. This time however I truly suspect that amadjin is evil and his grounds for voting for me are suspect, hence why I have launched so vigorous a defence. Hell, in most games I dont even cast a vote on the first day as I normally find it pointless but I think I am either onto something or amadjin is just full of it.

Ive listed 3 reasons you have given, none of which coincide with the reason that I gave for unvoting wes which is what you claim. Either you havent read my posts thoroughly that have been directed at you therefore giving you this suspicion or you are trying to sow seeds of suspicion about me in other peoples heads. I am inclined to believe the latter as none of the reasons I have given for unvoting Wes have anything to do with the many you have given.
I wouldnt go after anyone for voting for me, its just one vote. I have only responded because of the absurd logic behind it and when probed about some of your posts you give a different reason each time. Now thats dodgy. Ive already stated my reasons, I dont find the first day to be productive and since he had 5 votes I thought he was a gonner anyway. Potential short term loss for long term gain (get to look at voting and posting patterns leading to the lynch)

At the moment I believe your claim, but this reason doesn't hold much water. A good mod would have given the mafia "safe" names that they could claim with if they need to.
This stops the entire town all name-claiming on the first day,and thus winning the game.

In no way, have I criticised TCH. Anyone who hosts one of these games has to do a large amount of work to make it run smoothly so fair play. I'm just saying, that Wes claim could still be bullshit, because the mod normally gives the mafia "safe" names, which would usually be town. This is especially the case in something like "Avatar" which only have a few characters.

Right really concerned why eddiemunster, footballnewb and Happy Axe all who have voted for me seem to have gone quiet.
I think eddiemunster is new to the game so its understandable. FBN on the other hand has got no excuse really, He told us earlier on in the game that the reason he can post more often now because hs at work, so why has it stopped?. Happy Axeman is to very quite and really has no excuse.

Mophead on the other hand is just being mophead I don’t think we need to worry about him because he’s contributing nothing to the game to help good or evil.

weekends are always quiet and I had a busy monday. I can see why my behaviour would arouse suspicion but I have given reason for that. Normally I ignore votes against me but this time I saw through the vote and reacted accordingly. I've calmed down now :laugh:
Savechip, some mafia players are known not to post very often in case they get caught out so by not posting often a player can arouse as much suspicion as someone who posts a lot and recklessly.
On another note I am now unemployed but therefore I should be able to contribute even more.

One other thing, you all were keen on signing up and playing so it's up to you to post to make the game work. It doesn't matter to me as the mod, infact it's much easier with generally only a page of posts if i'm lucky to check over each day. But it doesn't make the game fun to play imho

No I haven't changed my view on SVH and I don't think he's tried hard to convince me otherwise but with only 2 votes he doesn't need to I guess. I think he is still the most suss so I'm sticking... as for SaveChip55 well I have no idea for or against .. this always the problem with a relatively new player .. like munster happily jumping on the bandwagon but I recall doing that early on as you are still trying to get with the nuiance of the game .. I'd say he's in the same category as 95% (just a rhetorical figure it's not a true representation so don't bother looking for some staistical reasoning) of the rest of the players for me .. just don't know if good or evil .. you are also in this category .. the only one I'm pretty sure about is Wes and I'm sure about myself

OK .. from my point of view I believe wes becuase he's claimed a role thats very likely .. and no one has counter claimed .. you may be right but until something else comes to light Wes is a townie .. therefore unless you have something else to add you are against a townie and therefore not a townie and I will vote for you .. however I don't think mafia person would be going after him still unless they counter claimed trying to cause confusion .. eitherway it'd be curtains for one of them possibly 2 of them after day 2. Thank you jedi master for your infinite wisdom. I will take what you said on board. I have a hunch and it feels right. It is the first day and knowing much about anyone is difficult right now. But he is erratic and in my opinion very dangerous. I dont believe someone just because they say they are good.

as for now we have to believe him really, claiming a role that is almost definately in the game (mason, not mote) would be a big risk if he was mafia..

MIASG seems to be very very iffy.. not ruffling any feathers.. even with Muster who still has his vote on WES after acknowledging wes' role claim.. He's gone very very easy on him saying things like "your vote is your choise isn't it".. it's just all very odd to me.. I think MIASG is Evil to be honest..

far from it steve ... not saying munster isn't bad .. could just be mafia member following godfather .. FBN does look suss but so does SVH in my mind. Well our current voting situation is getting us nowhere. Despite my theory on amadjin I would be willing to vote elsewhere if it gets us somewhere and if someone has a valid reason for voting for them. A few people are suspicious of footynewb, eddiemunster, wes and amadjin and myself and to be honest I can see where people are coming from for each one. Its up to us to make our mind up on one person, at the moment everyone is has their own theories and suspicions and quite clearly we are getting nowhere.
Its the weekend. Michael Chopra just scored against Chelsea, all is well with the world :D

If they do that, then thats pretty dumb. If you all believe my claim, then I'm a confirmed innocent, along with someone else I know is innocent. We will see what happens in the nightphase, but I'm probably the biggest threat to the mafia, with my genius reasoning skills :D

NO, MIASG, the post you wrote about FBN seemed to me to be Mafia clearing themselves from an innocent lynch.. so in tomorrow's dayphase you could point back to that post adn say "see look.. i didn't think he was 100% mafia.. i called a bandwaggon a bandwaggon".. and thats' what scared me away from that lynch..

I'm gonna stick my neck out, and request the mod remove the deadline. The reason being, a few people are coming on to post now, and I am beginning to think we could get a lynch the normal way.
I'd accept a Footballnewb lynch, as his earlier posts looked suspicious to me, but his last post gave me a moment of doubt...and doubt is a terrible thing.
If we are just gonna lynch someone for the sake of it, it really should be a non-poster. Axeman traditionally barely contributes, so we might as well lynch him early doors.
Maybe someone could replace one of the non-posters?

ok, during the night you are woken up by a huge crash, waking up you see smouldering wreckage in the distance. Firstly, I think im allowed to vote on hunch and I dont necessarily mind if people follow my thought patterns or not. In time when wes makes more mistakes I will pick up on them. My vote as I have always said is because I dont like his erratic style of play. And that I found him Sus. I have never said more than that.

Well I can't see much happening for a few days with SVH and Steve not having any real time to contribute. Another point, If I was wanting one person out of the game would be you if i was bad because you try and get people to slip, which in the first night faze you would of been a dead cert to go. So you 1 have been protected or you are part of the mafia and I believe you are part of the mafia.

I think for the record it should be advised of the noob mistake you made MIASG. After one of my previous posts MIASG advised that, ryals, on his facebook had stated he was involved in some tsunami warnings. Talking out of the thread is prohibited. so perhaps the moderators may have to issue something about this.
As for a fulham fan. I dont see how this should be a problem. As far as im concerned we have done nothing but help man citeh this season. By beating the red devils and liverpool scum at home we have bolstered your hopes for a top 4 placing. now in essance of not making this a strictly football forum. perhaps we should stick to avatar.

I'm officially back.. 2 days later than expected, but I can't get upset at getting paid $2,400 by United Airlines to stay an extra day in Hawaii :) Apparently there were a lot of Tsunami issues with the cruise lines having to stay in the open ocean missing all of their flights during the evacuation..
I'll be going back through the last 5 pages or so since I left.. I've skimmed over just to make sure nothing major has happened, but will go back after I get caught up on my work and really read them well.. I do see a couple people asking me about eddiemuster..
Here's what I figure..
we all assume wes is innocent becasue nobody has counterclaimed.. but Eddie has been strong in his stance against Wes..
So my question for Eddie is: Are you counterclaiming against Wes? A simple Yes or No will do..

I assume you are talking about the Axeman vote.. At the time (and still now really) the game seemed to be dying, and my thought was it'd be better to get rid of a non-poster than anyone who's actually playing, even if it meant we lost the game, at least we would get to play it.. rather lose than the game get abandoned mid way through..
I don't see my vote being counted on the last vote count, looks like HappyAxeman has voted for himself, but I'm sure TCH meant that for me, so unvote axeman since he's popped up..
As far as wes goes, I am still waiting to hear back from Eddiemunster.. depending on his answer, combined with the information that I already have I will be able to make an assesment..
before you ask, the information does not damn or clear anyone in this game.. it's from my night action and it's a fairly weak night action. I had one night to do something, and since I figured I'd probably get killed in the first night, I went ahead and used it last night..

Well, I'm asking again because I believe that there is more to it, and he just need to come out and say so, or he needs to be firm and say he has no other information because sometimes a 'hunch' is much more than just a hunch you see..
here's some reasoning..
Wes says: I'm town, here's my role
Eddie.. Vote for wes
strong head to head seemingly differing orientations..
You'd think, if wes was good, and eddie bad, that the evils would pick out wes as his role seems to be a pretty strong role.. but he was not killed in the night phase..
on the other side of the coin.. Wes is considered to be good by most, and seeing Eddiemunster vote for him blatantly, seems like a townie would have went after him, assuming there is a vig in this game.. also, seems like someone would have investigated someone.. and the only person seeming to be firm on anyone so far is eddiemunster.. which is why he just needs to come on out and give what info he has unless it'd be detrimental to the town.. but as long as wes is considered to be good by most, we may not know what's going on unless eddie comes clean.. dig?

I think the town vigilante killed mophead. Can't see mafia wanting to get rid of a non poster and non voter..
I believe that the mafia were blocked last night in trying to kill eddiemunster in order to frame Wes after my late change of heart in the last day phase.
I had two night actions to use, and I chose to use one on eddiemunster last night. I protected him and that should explain the lack of a kill.
Had this been a strict counterclaim, it would be an easy vote for Wes.. but now we have to look at who's been less involved in the wes vs eddiemunster battle. I believe both of them to be innocent at this point, and am very interested to hear other's ideas on who might be the culprit here..
Anyway, I do feel that eddie & Wes are most likely good.. Just have to work out who's NOT good.. But a good way to get there is process of elimination..

If wes is who he says he is, eddie would be an ideal target for the mafia to go after considering how he stayed against wes the whole first day. It would make wes look guilty if he turned out to be town. Since I do believe the town vigilante is the one who took out mophead (why would mafia want to get rid of a non posting non voting player?? mophead wasn't affecting them whatsoever). It seems to me that the mafia tried the hit on Eddiemunster, but failed because I protected him..

I'm inclined to believe it was Mafia. Simply because as I stated before with the low numbers in the game I believe this could quite possibly be a straight Town vs Mafia game with no Vigilante serial killer etc. I dont believe for one minute the Mafia would go for Eddie as you would have us believe as he was coming across as one of the most unknown quantites with his behaviour on day one so why take him out? I would have thought Wes to be a far more obvious target. Yet the way you have spoke about both and the ideas you have come up with don't sit right with me.

Can someone tell me when the last straight mafia v town was? the last twisted game was the one with numbers .. otherwise there's usually more then 1 night kill action .. I can;t talk for Ryals but that's my assumption and I have to stick with it.

we lost Phil early on so it was 13 so start with wasn't it? I'm just going on past games scenarios and I feel there probably is more than 1 kill night action .. I have no idea if there is or if it was used or not .. I guess with the story line a SK would be hard to put in unless one of the native wildlife so vig more believable. I think we are getting bogged down a little on the 2 kills per night vs 1 kill scenario .. not really doing more then that - still shouldn't really stop in search of mafia though.

because of the small number of people in the game i dont see there being a vig without there being an imbalance. i would think it more likely to be a cult present then a vig. but on the other hand,we're all speculating unless someone actually knows something

Folks, I am finding it hard to find the time for this game at the moment for various reasons. I havent been on much at all lately and dont want to hold the game up by being inactive. I can get online tommorow for maybe an hour and the same again Wednesday and Friday but the weekend is a write off really. If you are happy with that I am happy to continue but I would have no objections if you have a suitable replacement in the waiting.
My contract at the magistrates court has been extended until august and I want to keep my nose clean in the hope of extending it further so I cant get online during the day like I used to. I would like to apologise to everyone of you for not being able to get online much lately which means I havent got anything to contribute.
I had no idea this would happen when I signed up. Sorry folks

quiet posters hinder the game progression but they could also be evil hiding and not putting themselves in the mix ..

This pattern will continue from me, as well as anyone with any sense.. If you aren't posting you're either a useless townie or your evil.. one of the two.. i'd much rather vote off a useless non-posting, non voting, non night-action-using townie than one who acually posts..
you'll find that people will pile on the votes to bring you out of hiding.. and once you return and get involved, the votes usually disappear.. it's a method to get the game rolling.. hence the vote for axe, moppy and now you..

WOW good night .. so were Mafia blocked or the godfather one of the missing people ??? .. I knew SVH was bad from obvious slip ups on day 1 but I admit I was getting confused as it didn't appear anyone else was interested .. apart from Amadjin ..and then steve ryals .. both who I doubnt would have voted for SVH and kept him in danger if indeed mafia (and SVH had voted in kind back to amadjin).. not saying they are def town but I'm more positive in saying not mafia. Also now believe that there is prob a investigator/vig for town and no SK .. hope more people can get on and post in this day phase though. With getting everything sorted with staff for the week I was away and this week that happens to be The Cheltnam Festival I just totally put this game to the back of my mind. I apologise again because I truly hate people who sign up and don't play.

However one person is missing, Miasg has not shown up and it's unusual for him to be late. You go searching for him and not far from the main camp you find the body, shot dead at some stage during the night.

Not a good night, can anyone shed any light on who did what as I think its fairly obvious that at least one person is lieing in their role claim. Lets not be rash and figure this out. I protected Amadjin last night but obviously picked the wrong person to protect. Think it goes without saying now this is just a straight mafia vs town game unless by seem freak coincidence sum1 has been saved every night either from vigilante or mafia. as there has been just 1 kill a night. Chose Amadjin cause I'm pretty sure he is good and thought he would be a target as others were too obvious and thought mafia might think they would be protected and go for sum1 less obvious to make sure of a kill. Obviously I was wrong though, maybe I double bluffed myself into thinking too much into what they might be thinking lol.

After being accused several times during the first few days, Mike has at last been set upon by the Na'vi. He is dragged away despite his protects and lynched.
Much jubilation is had when you discover Mike is Parker Selfridge and the Mafia Godfather
However the game is not over so we enter the night phase now with 4 players left we enter night phase 5. We will stay down for a minimum of 24 hours and a max of 48 hours. If i receive night actions within 24 we will resume this time tomorrow, it not we wait another day.

some of the roles became a little redundant after the first day/night. FBN was the only person on the town side who could if he decided kill people.
Each main character FBN and Mike had a protector and could not be killed at night while their protector still lived.
Mopheads role could have been interesting as he could take someone each night in the helecopter and could have caused some actions to have changed.
After the first day i could only see a mafia win, then with SVH, Axe and Mike not sending a kill in it swung back to town and was good that it went down to the wire.
Well done town on a good game.
